Online appointments and repeat prescriptions with EMIS Access

In co-operation with EMIS our computer system supplier, we have introduced a service to allow patients to book or cancel an appointment with a doctor and to order repeat prescriptions. In order to use this service, you need to be a registered patient and have a registration letter detailing your access pin/id number, practice id number and NHS number. To get this letter you will need to come into the surgery with proof of ID and speak with one of our receptionists who will provide this. If you have already done this, and have your registration letter you will need to create a user account with EMIS Access on their web page. Click HERE to do so, and enter the details as instructed.

If you’ve already created your account and are therefore an existing user, then please click HERE to access it. Please ensure that you follow the guidelines listed below for booking appointments online.

The direct Web site page for the service is https://access.e-mis.co.uk or it can be accessed via the Web Site of Patient.co.uk - http://www.patient.co.uk/

Guidelines for booking appointments online

Please note that you can book most appointments with a doctor, except those listed below. These must be booked with a Nurse. If you do book an appointment with a doctor for any of the following, it is likely that when you turn up for your appointment, you may be asked to re-book your appointment at another time with a Nurse.

  • All Contraception Advice
  • Diabetic Advice
  • Asthma Checks
  • Dressings/Wounds/Stitches removal
  • Blood Pressure readings
  • New Patient Health Checks
  • Blood Tests
  • Smears
  • Children’s vaccinations
  • Travel vaccinations/advice

Guidelines for ordering repeat prescriptions online.

  • The doctor will decide which treatments can be repeated and for how long
  • Only repeat medication may be requested online and not acute meds (short term medication)
  • Make sure that you have enough medicine to last until you pick up your prescription
  • Allow at least 2 working days from point of requesting you prescription online to picking it up (example: request Friday should be ready after 4pm on the following Tuesday)
  • You cannot request contraceptive pills as repeat as you must first be seen by a GP.
