Flu Clinic

We are currently running a programme of both seasonal flu and swine flu vaccinations. These are being rolled out to those with underlying medical conditions or elderly. If you think that you may be entitled for the vaccine then please speak to a member of the reception staff who will book you an appointment. If you do not fall in the above groups then you may be able to get inoculated when the vaccines become available to the general public.

Swine Flu

The criterea for innoculations are similar to that of seasonal flu and include:

People aged between six months and 65 years in the clinically at-risk groups for seasonal flu.

     Pregnant women,

Household contacts of people with compromised immune systems.

People aged 65 and over in the current seasonal flu vaccine clinical at-risk groups.

At-risk groups

This will be the same as for seasonal flu vaccination. This includes people with serious heart disease, diabetes, and weakened immune systems due to cancer treatment.

Catch it. Bin it. Kill it.

Preventing the spread of germs is the single most effective way to slow the spread of diseases like swine flu. You can protect yourself and your family by ensuring everyone washes their hands regularly with soap and water, and cleaning surfaces regularly.

You can prevent a virus spreading to others by:

always carrying tissues, using tissues to cover your mouth and nose when you cough and sneeze, binning the tissues as soon as possible, and washing your hands regularly.

Surgery Telephone
The practice changed its telephone number last year to a lo-call number

0844 477 3306

The cost to call this number from a BT landline is the same as any local rate number. Patients are not charged extra. However mobile phone charges do vary.

This change enabled us to audit the demand for our telephone system and now we are able to direct patients to the service and information they need. However during peak times you may have to wait longer to speak to a member of staff. Our peak times are: Monday , Tuesday and Friday 8.30 —11.00am. Our quiet times are generally the afternoon between 5—6 pm Monday to Friday.
