Emergencies
We run an appointment only system and have the Advanced Access system which means that we will always try to offer you an appointment within 2 working days even though you can book up to 2 week in advance for your convenience.
If you have an urgent medical problem which the doctor or nurse agrees cannot wait, we will always see you the same day. If there are no available appointments we will try to see you as soon as possible but please be prepared to wait if we are busy. In some cases, you may be asked to speak to our Triage Nurse who can assess your need for an urgent appointment.
We do not operate a walk-in service so please telephone first as we will often be able to give you an appointment and if this is not possible it will help us reduce how long you have to wait. Please ring as soon as possible during the day so that we can advise you when to come to the surgery.
Unless it is a medical emergency, patients contacting us after 11 am in the morning or after 5 pm in the evening may have to wait until the next surgery session. We are now open for administration purposes only on Thursday afternoons.
WHEN THE SURGERY IS CLOSED....if you need URGENT medical attention please ring 0845 602 6292. An operator will then take details of your name, address, GP and the simple description of the problem. A doctor will then call you back to give you advice or arrange to see you at the Primary Care Centre or visit you at home. It is important to give clear accurate details of your name, address and telephone number and any helpful advice about finding you if you need a visit. You can also get information and advice by ringing NHS DIRECT on 0845 4647 24 hours per day. For further help go to their website at www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk or click on the NHS direct logo.
